Professor Richardson defines the theology of the New Testament as 'the framing of an hypothesis concerning the content and character of the faith of the apostolic church, and teh testing of that hypothesis in the light of all available techniques of New Testament scholarship.' In his extensive work he reviews the evidence from familiar pasages to passing allusions drawn from the beliefs and practices of the early Church to form a coherent and meaningful whole. The author suggests that Jesus is the true source of the reinterpretation of the Old Testament scheme of salvation which is so prominently found in the New Testament. This thesis is, in his view, superior to any other interpretation. In its testing, Richardson employs the methods of modern study - archaeological, philological, literary, etc. -to present and explain the leading ideas and themes of New Testament theology.
Good, boards mildewed, musty odor, owner stamps, text solid & clean. Good DJ.
